 Most people are often confused regarding, the specific amount or range of money needed in their bank account, to apply and get a UK Visit Visa in Nigeria. The truth is that, there is no specific or specified amount of money needed to apply for a UK visit Visa in Nigeria. However, there are some points that need to be put into consideration during the Visa application process. The United Kingdom will always prioritize you personal and financial circumstance in Nigeria, while making a decision on your UK Visa Application. The funds in you bank account, must be able to cover the total cost of  your visit to UK, and also have enough to sustain you on return to Nigeria. Assuming the total cost of the trip will be taken care of by yourself, you must show that you have more than enough money to cover the cost of the trip and extra. My UK Visa application was refused in Nigeria, even with millions in my account.

 How the millions in your Bank account can cause visa refusal in Nigeria.

Apart from lack of sufficient funds, Too much funds can also result in Visa Refusal. A lot of Nigerians believe that once you have millions in your bank account, the Entry Clearance Officer will be impressed and issue the UK  Visa.

Unfortunately, it does not work that way.  Having millions of Naira  in your bank account, is not a guaranty for UK visa. The most important thing is being able to explain the source of the funds in your bank account.

Can the Millions in your bank account be traced to the source? Are there available documents to backup the funds ? Are the funds commensurate with the income and occupation stated in your application ? You can not claim to be a Civil Servant in Nigeria earning N50,000 monthly, and have deposits of more than N200,000 in your bank account.  

The UKVI in Nigeria, is more interested in the source of the funds in your account, than the Large Sum. 80 percent of UK Visa's refused in Nigeria, are refused because of unexplained funds or deposits in the applicants  bank account.

So ensure that all deposits in your bank account are explained, and are in accordance with your stated occupation and income, to avoid visa refusal.
