How do I apply for UK Visa from Nigeria?

 Take these steps to apply for UK Visa in Nigeria.

As a Nigerian Citizen, you will need to apply for a Visa to visit the United Kingdom. So the steps bellow will guide you through the Visa application process.

  1. Get a Valid International Passport
    Before you can apply for a visa, you must first have a valid international passport. You can get a passport from the  Nigerian Immigration Website

  2. Register at the UK Government website
    Now that you have gotten a Valid international passport, you can now visit the UK GOV Website. On the website, you can choose the type of Visa you want to apply for. It could be "standard Visitor", " Study Visa", "Business or Work Visa". 
    Based on the type of visa you are applying for, you will create an account and fill the form.

  3. Book Appointment 
    Once you are done filling the form on the UK Government website, pay for the Visa fee, you will then proceed to book an appointment. Normally, you will be directed to the TLS Website, where you will book and appointment. 

  4. Payment
    The type, time, venue of the appointment will determine the price you pay. You can either pay for your UK visa appointment with your dollar dominated card from any Nigerian bank, or you use a third party payment platform provided on the TLS Website

  5. Biometric Verification
    After you have paid and booked your appointment on the TLS Website,  you will have to be present at the venue on the scheduled date. You will need to come along with your international passport, copy of your visa application form, booking confirmation receipt etc. Depending on the type of service you paid for on the TLS Website, you might need to bring physical copies of your supporting documents. But if you used the "SELF SERVICE", then you would have uploaded your supporting documents to the UK GOV Website.
    Your thumb of Fingerprint will be captured in the system.
    Ensure you get to the venue at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Do not contact people at the roadside for assistance, always ensure you talk to a staff at the Visa Application center. Also ensure that you check your emails regularly, as the status of the visa process will normal be sent through the email address you provided.
